School day at The March

The School Day

 

 In accordance with Government policy our school week totals 32.5hrs 

 

The school gate is open from 8:30am until 8.45am when the school day commences

 

Year R and Year 1 parents are welcome to bring the children into the playground and the children independently walk into their classrooms.  Parents may also wish to catch Mrs Metcalfe at the school gate if they want to pass on some important information at the start of the day.

Registration commences at 8.30am. Any child arriving after registration will need to enter via the School Office, accompanied by an adult, who must sign the late book giving a reason for lateness.

Worship 9am on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Choral Worship 9am on Wednesday and Friday 9am Head Teachers Merit Assembly.

Snack time - fruit is provided for KS1 and EYFS  and so is milk if you have requested it. KS2 parents may provide their child with vegetable or fruit snacks.

Morning play is from 10:15 – 10:30am  

Lunch time begins at 12:00pm - every child in Reception, and key stage one is entitled to a free hot school meal which is provided by Chartwells. There is a choice between two dishes and one is vegetarian. Children also have access to vegetables, fruit, pudding and a drink.  All children sit in the main hall and eat their lunch together.

KS2 - You can request your child to have a hot school meal which is provided by Chartwells. There is a choice between two dishes with one being a vegetarian option. Children also have access to vegetables, fruit, pudding and a drink. Or you can provide your child with a healthy packed lunch

Afternoon starts at 12.50pm

 

School finishes at 3:15pm: 

The teachers will bring your children out to meet you and will not let them leave until they have seen their adults who will be collecting them. If a different adult than usual is collecting them, please let their class teacher know. If children cannot find their adult to go home with they are asked to stay with their class teacher.
