Our School
The March School is a Church Aided school that provides for the whole primary age range. We are proud of our church ethos and character and the school enjoys its close links with St Andrew’s Church, Oving and St Peter’s Church, Westhampnett. The school aims to help our children to love learning, reach high standards, respect themselves and others, establish healthy lifestyles, become self-disciplined, respect the environment and to have enquiring minds.
As a staff we firmly believe that to achieve our aims we are working in partnership; both with the children themselves and with you as their parents. Working together we can provide the very best quality education for our children and give them the growing knowledge, attitudes, skills and concepts that will serve them for life. It is a privilege to take children on their journey of learning through their primary years and to share those moments when a child will take a leap forward in their learning. Whilst providing primarily for a child’s education we believe that this is in the context of nurturing the whole person in order to develop a child spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. The curriculum has been designed to excite and engage children whilst giving them opportunities to learn in a range of ways. Each child will be encouraged and challenged in a positive environment to reach the highest standards that they are capable of achieving. The progression of learning activities has been mapped carefully to build on children’s learning from year to year and to link areas of learning.
Our staff are committed to providing a varied and interesting range of activities to develop each child to fulfil their potential. In addition to the standard curriculum there are plenty of opportunities for your child to develop in all manner of ways.
Our curriculum is designed to meet a wide variety of needs and
strengths. We are pleased that our school is a vibrant member of our community
and we enjoy links with the Goodwood Estate and Rolls-Royce. We also have links
with our local older residents. As a school we enjoy working closely with a
committed team of governors and would welcome you as a member of our lively
Friends Association if you would like to take part.
